Fyodor Filippovich Konyukhov (born December 12, 1951) is a Russian traveler, explorer, full member of the Russian Geographical Society, priest, artist and writer. He has completed over 40 unique expeditions and mountain climbs.
Most important achievements.
1. Solo arctic ski trip to the North Pole (1990, 72 days).
2. Alone navigation to the South pole (1995, 59 days).
3. Two trans-continental runs: a Soviet-American bicycle run from Nakhodka (in the far South-Eastern corner of Russia) to Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) in 1989 and a Soviet-Australian automobile run from Nakhodka to Brest (on the Belorussian-Polish border) in 1991.
4. Three solo cruises around the world (1990-1991, 1992, 1998).
5. Climbing to the mountaintops of all of the world continents (1997, 5 years).
6. Latest hobby - aeronautics in a baloon (2017).
7. A record transcontinental flight to the North Pole on a motorcycle paraglider in support of the federal project "Clean Arctic".
Future plans.
1. Between 2021 and 2022 attempt the first solo crossing across the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans aboard a solar-powered catamaran NOVA equipped with electric motors and flexible solar modules.
2.Perform non-stop flight in the project “Albatross – around the world on solar energy” in an aeroplane.
3. Build a bathyscaphe and dive to the very bottom of the Mariana Trench at the depth of 11 thousand meters, where two lithospheric plates meet.
